More a sight reading than scale trainer
Kind of fun to time yourself against the game but I wouldnt call this a scale trainer.
Save Your Money
Can only see a scale one note at a time after pressing the note. This app is not designed to be used with an instrument so do not plan to be able to see all the notes in a scale and pick them out on the guitar. Also, the scales are only shown in one key, of C, one note at a time. Also, the one minute speed tests cannot be stopped. You just have to wait until the one minute passes. There is no way to compare your speed with others. I think the only useful way to use this app is to pick a scale type, I.e. Major, minor etc and press each note until you memorize the notes in a scale. To be useful, it should allow you to change keys and also show you the entire scale at different fret positions on the guitar neck. It appears, the creators of this app just want to get your money without putting any thought or effort into building a great product.
Worthwhile for a beginner
I started playing guitar almost 20 years ago, but never really took the time to learn how to read sheet music. This app, along with another beginner bidbox sight reading app, helped connect me to that next step. Now I can read music and work my way through to memorizing a piece.
Not worth it
If the game was like a buck itd be on par with what you get. The game play is ok, Ive bought better guitar apps for less.
